Job Marathon – Preparation

I have packed my clothes and food for my adventure. I will be getting half the sleep I am used to and working two jobs while I decide where my career will go next. I feel like I am going to be homeless for that time, ultimately living out of my car. A few things have come to mind:

  • This will be the week I truly get addicted to coffee
  • There should be a Tim Hortons loyalty card
  • Sleep on Thursday will be good
  • I ain’t no hollaback girl

On the way to work today I saw an advertisement on a car promoting Family Safe Movies that edits popular movies so there is no graphic violence, sex scenes, profanity or nudity. My first reaction was: What else is there to movies? To my amazement they have Pulp Fiction and Scarface, but no Showgirls. As well I did not see People Under the Stairs or Nightmare on Elm Street, both of those movies thoroughly corrupted my childhood, and terrified me to no end. And surprisingly enough both were made by Wes Craven. Although they do have E.T. which to this day I still avoid because of the emotional damage it did to me when I was younger. I will save that story for another day.

On another note, Chad and his Angry Mailbox linked me to his site as Gursky’s House of Pancakes. Chad must be a psychic or I’m easy to read because in addition to having dreams of running my own game show, I want to make a restaurant that serves nothing but KD and giant sized pancakes. I don’t know if there is a market for it, but the KD will be extra cheesy and pancakes full of chocolate chips and bananas.

That reminds me, if you are ever in Vancouver I highly recommend Elbow Room as it not only serves verbal abuse but massive pancakes. I was too scared to ask for water”
